Homegrown: The Consequences Of Hatred and Lies
Michael Premo
As the hostile takeover of the American government by the Trump regime continues to wage in 2026, and ICE has shown itself as a murderous, anti-constitutional, criminal gestapo, we have recently passed the fifth anniversary of the January 6th riots.
With the current regime trying to change history by proclaiming the riots as “peaceful protests” and the people who violently attacked the capital and capital police officers as heroes, Homegrown couldn’t come out at a better time to remind us of what really happened that day, and, what lies the criminal perpetrators operated under.
Lost in the sauce
The film follows three men in three different parts of the country, who are affiliated with different chapters of the racist, right wing extremist group, the Proud Boys.
Randy Ireland and Chris Quaglin both participate in the New Jersey/Long Island sect of the Proud Boys, and Thad Cisneros, is the Chief of the Salt Lake City chapter. Randy, listed now as a “former” leader of the New York chapter of the Proud Boys, is also featured in another film I reviewed regarding hate groups in America, Against All Enemies.
Completely deluded with the lies and misinformation spread by way too many years of dealing with Trump, the Russian bots, the billionaires behind him, and the complicit political pawns who are allowing this to happen, each of these men focus their lives based upon deception, cemented in by their own ignorance.
Thad, the only who seems to maintain a shred of reality, joined the Proud Boys after watching the film Fahrenheit 911, a liberal take by Michael Moore, on September 11th.
Though his intentions seemed honorable, in that, he wanted to do something to take care of the corruption in our government, I’m not sure where the disconnect happened that led him to joining a known white supremacist hate group.
Early on in the film, he is unaware that Trump is racist and doesn’t believe that supporting him aligns him with racism.
He advocates with his group, that people need to be able to cross group lines and be willing to talk with one another, rather than closing those opportunities out of sheer hatred and ignorance. He joins with the leader of the local Black Lives Matter group, and sets out to spread their message of tolerance.
Because of his willingness to remain open, he ends up learning a lot more than any of the other people featured.
Randy leads a small group of the Proud Boys, staging a sort of “meet and greet” at a local abandoned strip mall. Though he jokes with others, alluding that they aren’t white supremacists and that they have “gay” members, he says that his group are always on guard for when “antifa” and “Black Lives Matter” people show up.
At some point someone states that a “Black Lives Matter” car is approaching, so everyone starts running toward the road with paintball guns, bats and firecrackers.
They run a van off the road, with no apparent signage, and no one yelling at them, and proceed to break its windows and shoot it with paintballs until the van takes off. Then they yell at other cars and hit and paintball them too as they pass by.
Clearly illegal, there seems to be zero point to their “cause”, nor anyone fighting back against them. Obviously steeped in ignorance, they believe that Black Lives Matter poses threats to them and also that antifa is a group that poses a threat, when it’s just an acronym for anti-fascist.

Then there’s Chris.
Chris is the main focus of the film. He is a Proud Boys member, husband to an immigrant, Chinese wife, racist, and father to be.
The only mention as to why he states he is in this made up fight is “for his son”. We see him fixing up their house for the arrival of their baby. He also shows us his secret room full of military style weapons and ammo, with the usual “Don’t Tread on Me” flag inside.
In front of the camera, he tells director Michael Premo, about his plan to get gallons of black paint to take it to vandalize the Black Lives Matter sign written on the street in front of Trump Tower in New York City. He shows how he’s making his machine and how excited he is to go do it.
Chris is completely ingrained and paranoid in the Great Replacement Theory, that white people are being erased and replaced by people of color, and that there is a need to fight the government so that liberal ideologies don’t take control. It’s the same bullshit Trump has been lying to people with for ages.
Most of the things he does and plans is behind his wife’s back, because somewhere in him, he knows it’s wrong and doesn’t want to lose her. His radicalization gets the best of him when he follows a group of Proud Boys to DC for the 2020 inauguration.
Trump, the con in chief, of course, tricks his followers into believing that he’s going to be there with them in the march to “save our democracy” from Democrat “lies”, and that the election was stolen. As we’ve all seen, the January 6th attack on our capitol and its police people then commences, with Chris near the front row.
in all honesty…
Homegrown, stands as its own testament to the truth behind the January 6th, 2021, US Capitol insurrection.
Michael Premo
These people, whether they knew it or not, were violent traitors to this country and our democracy, who created damage to a standing institution of the government, and killed and harmed the police officers that were fighting to protect it that day.
Trump, of course, lied to his people, as he’s always done, and, as we’ve recently found out, was stated by prosecutor Jack Smith to be, beyond a reasonable doubt, the starter of this coup. He was formally charged with four convictions related to this coup, but Smith was unable to continue the case due to the difficulties of trying a sitting president.
Premo’s Homegrown, shows us up close and personal that Trump’s lies to make January 6th out to be a “peaceful protest” and the rioters “heroes”, as the complete fallacy it is. Premo literally follows Chris to DC that day and is part and witness to the crowd and the bloodshed.
Premo speaks in interviews about wanting this film to be from a stance of non-judgement, as he doesn’t verbally engage with the individuals while shooting them, and he states that he thinks that these extremists have wants and needs similar to liberals, but I have to disagree.
If you look at what footage has been put into the film, much of it is actual crimes.
Chris literally plans to vandalize the Black Lives Matter sign in front of Trump tower, premeditated and done on the camera. Randy and his group destroy someone else’s vehicle based upon an assumption, with zero provocation from the people driving the van, and shoot other cars with paint ball guns passing by.
The way that Chris and some of the people Thad meets up with in New York talk, is completely delusional. Some go on about what the coming of God is going to look like, others pick random fights with bike riders accusing them of being Antifa, simply because they’re against fascism. They follow, harass them and beat them up.
All of them talk about the Black Lives Matters protests in a negative sense as if they were actually violent riots that somehow affected them negatively, and how BLM and ANTIFA were criminal organizations. Some even blame the BLM protests and the lie of the Great Replacement as reasons why they’re so angry, all of which are based on fallacy, racism and more lies.
But as we’ve seen, if Trump says it enough, and bots put it out enough on social media, there are people willing to accept anything as truth. Even after January 6th was over, many of the rioters in the film, were cursing out Trump for not showing up like he said he would with them. Didn’t that give them their first clue as to what kind of person he was?
The biggest disappointment of this film, for me, was that the style that Premo went with, removed intimacy and connection with each person, because we never really got to understand the “when’s” and “how’s” this all started for each individual.
Why was it so important for them? What exactly radicalized them? Was it straight up racism and ignorance? Was it the misinformation assault over the years we’ve had in America, brought on by Russian bots and oligarch techno geeks, to create the present billionaire coup that we are facing globally?
From what I saw, nothing shown made me understand better nor empathize toward them more.
It would’ve been nice to know where and how these connections were made versus just spending the day to day with Chris building stuff in his house and spouting Trump rubbish. It’s like the only words MAGA has are the ones given to them. They don’t seem to have the ability to think for themselves, so they become “bots” in and of themselves.
If Trump says a Minnesota woman tried to run over an ICE murderer, then that’s what happened even with actual footage of the opposite. If Fox News says that Trump is blameless in the Epstein Files, regardless of how many times his filthy name and photos comes up, then that’s the way it is.
Those of us who are awake are watching a science fiction film happening in real life, where the nastiest, scummiest people on the planet, are turning the most ignorant into cognitively dissonant zombies.
Michael Premo
Even after Chris gets pardoned, he comes out looking completely lost. His wife had filed for divorce and he doesn’t get to see his kid. He loses everything, and what for? Not to mention the scores of January 6th rioters who have come out of prison only to commit more crimes and go back in. Many others have joined ICE.
With the second wave of Epstein files out, and a whole other level of depravity revealed, what’s it going to take America?
Babies. BABIES, and children, mutilated, raped, trafficked, murdered, tortured in ways that are unimaginable. Why are we allowing these people their comfort and their lives anymore, including the political figures around the world who are covering for them? And we haven’t even seen the worst of the files yet.
Reality has been laid out in HD for us all along. Including January 6th, 2021.
When we will finally decide for ourselves that we will no longer take lies from the putrid 1%, who are constantly taking our lives and rights away, starting wars for profit, committing genocide in Gaza for real estate, infiltrating our electronics to spy on us, creating databases on all of us, stealing our private information, and, who essentially want to kill us and replace us with AI and robots?
ICE is killing us in our streets, acting like slave catchers of the American South in the 18th century, and the Gestapo or Sturmabteilung in Nazi Germany.
All of this though, are distractions from the Epstein Files and the massive cover up that has been happening over decades by governments worldwide.
Justice and accountability must finally be brought for every single person in power who kept this tragedy silent, and everyone who allowed this to continue.
The time is now. This is not a Blue or Red issue. It is a criminal elite issue. Wake up America, and the world.
